Jeremy Harper B.A., LL.B (Melb)
After completing
his Arts and Law degrees at Melbourne University, Jeremy Harper joined the firm
of D&A Aronson in Ballarat where he completed his articles. Following a number of
years working with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Legal service
in Rockhampton and Melbourne, Jeremy returned to Ballarat where he
and Glen Ludbrook set up their own practice in 1983. Jeremy’s main areas of expertise are in Family Law, where he has been an
accredited specialist since 1990, and
in Criminal Law where he practices in the Magistrates, Children and County
Courts. He is also responsible for the conveyancing and probate areas of the firm.
Jeremy has been
a member of the Residential Tenancies Tribunal and Small Claims Tribunal and is
currently a Family Law mediator with Relationships Australia. He is a member of
the Law Institute of Victoria and an executive member of the Ballarat and District Law
Association.
Jeremy has been
a volunteer with Ballarat Community Legal Centre for over 25 years, and also
regularly undertakes Duty Solicitor work at the Ballarat Magistrates Court. He
is on the Victorian Legal Aid panel of solicitors and undertakes work as a Child Representative
in family matters.
Jeremy’s
community work has involved him in various sporting, community, educational and charitable organizations
in Ballarat and district.
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife of 27 years and his
four children, playing tennis, bush walking and camping, and watching as many Hawthorn football matches as possible.
